Special Considerations

ATA Carnets are to be used only in Commercial Lanes.  Rainbow Bridge is for Passenger Traffic only.  ATA Carnet holders entering the U.S must use the Peace Bridge or Lewiston crossings.  ATA Carnets will be stamped there; both entries are for commercial traffic.

Unmanned Aircraft Systems(UAS) or “Drones”
U.S. Customs has no restrictions on the importation of an UAS but the Federal Aviation Administration does have requirements which must be met at the time of importation with the ATA Carnet.

Detailed conditions to the FAA’s UAS page for 3 types of drones as defined by the FAA. http://www.faa.gov/uas/ . The Certificate of Authorization or Waiver must be present at the time of importation. Another useful site is http://knowbeforeyoufly.org/
