As advised by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Holders bringing jewelry samples and /or precious stones to France are strongly advised to have transits included in their ATA Carnet.  French customs inspectors specially trained to evaluate jewelry and/or loose stones are typically not available at airports.  Therefore, Holders may be required to move goods, by means of ATA Carnet transit sheets, to the offices with such expertise before making formal entry.  The offices are presently located at:

    • 5 Rue Choron, 75009 Paris (for loose precious stones)
    • 14 Rue Peree, 75003 Paris (for jewelry)

Please be aware that these offices are closed on weekends, and it is your responsibility to make arrangements accordingly.
