Brazil OECD Business Policy Roundtables

December 8, 2020

The Brazil OECD Business Policy Roundtables (“The Roundtables”) seek to convene Brazilian and global private sector leaders to build sectoral consensus and provide specific policy recommendations to the Brazilian government that will advance economic prosperity in Brazil, across the hemisphere and globally.

The Roundtables will focus on incremental changes to policy and practice — in line with OECD standards and best practices — that yield concrete benefits to businesses while generating jobs and driving inclusive economic growth. The Roundtables will convene Brazil’s stakeholders for a series of dialogues on policy priorities. By working together, the aim is to deliver clear progress to advance an open, market-friendly, and rules-based economic partnership that will improve Brazil’s prospects for OECD accession. It is important to note that this forum is to discuss and encourage progress towards OECD standards rather than to discuss accession, as those discussions will occur in Paris at the OECD once Brazil will have been invited to commence the accession process.
