USCIB Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Working Group Meeting

The USCIB SDG WG will hold its first meeting of 2023 on Wednesday, February 1 at 9:30am–11:00am ET. The meeting will:

  • focus on the 2023 – 2024 UN calendar and decision-making relevant to the private sector;
  • provide an update and overview of UN SDG-related meetings in the coming year

UN preparations for the 2023 SDG Summit and the 2024 Summit for the Future will:

  • elevate the significance of UN meetings (such as the UN Water Conference, the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF), and UNGA Opening Week) throughout 2023 – 2024;
  • need to be addressed in USCIB advocacy to the Administration and in the UN.

The SDG Working Group meeting agenda will include:

  • Moving the Needle (MTN) initiative on Conflict of Interest and Business Engagement in Inclusive Multilateralism: Make 2023 Matter
    • Review of progress and upcoming events
    • Deliverables for Phases 1 and 2
  • UN Secretary General’s Report, “Our Common Agenda”: Action Update
  • SDG Working Group 2023-2024 priorities, based on survey outcomes
  • UN Calendar and decision point review

Our invited speaker for the meeting will be Isobel Coleman, Deputy Administrator for Policy and Programming, USAID
