USCIB, OECD, and BIAC, in cooperation with IFA-USA, ITPF, NFTC, OFII, TCPI, TEI and Tax Foundation, will host its annual conference on the OECD’s new international taxation initiatives on June 6-7, 2016 in Washington, D.C.
Quarterly meeting of the USCIB Environment Committee
The Global Forum was launched by the OECD in 2013 to strengthen international dialogue on responsible business conduct (RBC) and to enhance the synergies between corporate responsibility instruments on all levels, including the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. The Global Forum is the first multi-stakeholder platform for integrating corporate responsibility questions into the global economic agenda. Governments, businesses, trade unions and civil society come together to provide insights and exchange views on how to do well while doing no harm in an effort to contribute to sustainable development and enduring social progress. The fourth Global Forum will meet in June this year.
Ministers and stakeholders will meet for the OECD Ministerial Meeting on the Digital Economy: Innovation, Growth and Social Prosperity, to move the digital agenda forward in four key policy areas foundational to the growth of the digital economy: Internet openness and innovation, building global connectivity, trust in the digital economy, and jobs and skills in the digital economy. The 2016 Ministerial meeting will build on previous OECD Ministerial meetings on the digital economy – the 1998 OECD Ministerial Conference on Electronic Commerce in Ottawa and the 2008 Ministerial Meeting on the Future of the Internet Economy in Seoul.
The HLPF is the central UN platform for the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit on 25 September 2015. The 2016 forum will be the first HLPF after the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The General Assembly (GA) meets every September and is the main deliberative, policymaking and representative organ of the UN.
