Rick Minor Featured in Tax Notes International Article Following US Tax Proposal

Rick Minor (USCIB) presenting on US tax policy developments under the Trump administration in Munich.
Rick Minor, SVP and International Tax Counsel at USCIB, was quoted in a recent Tax Notes International article titled, “EU Says GILTI Pushdown Might Defeat Pillar 2 Purpose.” This article was published following the release of the US government’s proposal to credit its minimum tax rules when calculating their qualified domestic minimum top-up taxes (QDMTTs) under pillar 2, which EU officials are against.
Minor called the GILTI pushdown proposal “very interesting.” He added that other non-EU jurisdictions would also be “very interested in having that option” and that it would “probably introduce a little bit of tax competition back into the system.”
