The USCIB Foundation Hosts Business Pact for the Future Symposium

The USCIB Foundation hosted its “New Pathways for UN Impact with Business” symposium on May 8 in Geneva, graciously hosted by Microsoft, a USCIB member. Norine Kennedy, SVP for Global Strategy and UN Affairs at USCIB and Executive Director of The USCIB Foundation, was the host and master of ceremonies.
USCIB launched the Business Pact for the Future (BPF), a business initiative to accelerate implementation of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, a centerpiece of the UN Summit of the Future (SOTF).
Participants emphasized the importance of applying business planning, expertise, and management tools in collaboration with the UN. The BPF symposium brought together leaders to explore how businesses can actively address global economic, social, and environmental challenges over the next five years and beyond.
The symposium:
- Showcased how businesses invest knowledge and resources to support UN initiatives, especially in infrastructure areas like health, education, and skills development.
- Promoted trust-building and data interoperability to drive sustainable development solutions.
- Highlighted innovative pathways for public-private partnerships and strengthened cooperation between the private sector and the international community.
Kennedy joined other panelists including Julius Hill (Deloitte); Erica Moret (Microsoft); Brian Elliott (ITU); Chenai Kirkpatrick (SHRM); Matthias Thorns (Samsung Electronics); Christopher Reeves (OECD Blue Dot Network); Kristen Edgreen Kaufman (USCIB); Akustina Morni (IOE); Helen Medina (World Spirits Alliance); and Morten Enggaard Rasmussen (Novonesis).
