On October 24, USCIB’s quarterly Trade and Investment Committee meeting featured a discussion with US Senior Official for APEC Ambassador Matthew Murray on priority areas of US engagement with respect to Peru 2024 and Korea 2025 host years.

Murray delivered the keynote address, updating members on the status of the upcoming APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM) in Peru in November. He also shared insights on the internal dynamics, expected outcomes, and priorities for the Korea 2025 host year. Following his address, members engaged in an internal discussion on how USCIB could best impact the APEC workstream, beyond their regular topics of customs, chemicals, and digital policy.

The committee also discussed the latest developments on OECD accessions and provided updates on their investment and China subcommittee work.
