USCIB Participates in MIT’s Global Change Forum

MIT Global Change Forum 47.

Agnes Vinblad, Director of Environment and Sustainable Development at USCIB, participated in the Global Change Forum 47: Sustainability Science – Navigating the Challenges of Global Change conference at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on March 27-28.

This annual forum offers an unofficial, neutral setting for analyzing and discussing the science and policy aspects of global environmental change. The discussions at these meetings seek to provide a space for independent assessment and analysis of scientific studies and policy proposals to move the international climate change negotiations forward. This year’s focus on sustainability science included sessions on integrated modeling of nature-society systems, the role of institutions, markets, and policy incentives, and deep-dive explorations of nonlinearities and tipping points.

Vinblad was one of approximately 100 individuals invited to the forum, which also included representatives from industry, government, non-governmental organizations, national and international policymaking bodies, and research groups. Several USCIB members also participated in the Forum.
