COP27 Major Economies Business Forum (BizMEF) Business Dialogue

November 12, 2022

The Major Economies Business Forum (BizMEF) Partners and Observers, of which USCIB is a member, has announced that it will hold a BizMEF Business Dialogue at COP27, kindly hosted at the Green Zone FEI Pavilion, on Saturday, November 12. The theme of the Dialogue is Advancing the Just Transition for Climate Change Impact and Resilience.

This in-person BizMEF COP27 Business Dialogue will reflect the emphasis on “Implementation Plus” that is associated with COP27. What is meant by this? Certainly, it includes accelerated and mainstreamed business action and partnership, across every facet of policy and markets to deliver on climate goals and pledges.

A new chapter of accelerated action is needed, advancing mitigation and adaptation cost-effectively while creating opportunities to meet energy and employment needs. COP27 outcomes will need to address food, water and energy security, and the development challenges faced by the African region. Business will be an essential player in all of these challenges.

The COP27 Business Dialogue builds on a decade of prior successful BizMEF Dialogues at COPs, including in Doha, Warsaw, Lima, Katowice, and Madrid.

The objective of BizMEF Business Dialogues is to deepen understanding of economy-wide opportunities to mobilize business know-how and investment essential to deliver net zero and a sustainable resilient recovery.

Panels will discuss:

• Investment in Infrastructure for Climate Resilience and Job Creation
• Jobs and Skills for Ambition, Just Transition, and Adaptation
• Business Engagement: Building a Bridge of Partnerships for Impact to COP28

This event is by invitation only in order to promote discussion. If you are interested in the event, please contact Norine Kennedy: nkennedy@uscib.org.
