USCIB – USNCP Briefing on 2023 OECD Revised MNE Guidelines

August 2, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

On June 8th, the OECD adopted the revised Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct, aiming to uphold the document fit for purpose, as the previous update was in 2011. As a result, there are new expectations on business, particularly related to downstream due diligence in environmental and digital matters. Remember, cases can be brought against companies that allegedly do not comply with the new expectations.

USCIB Corporate Responsibility and Labor Affairs and the United States National Contact Point (USNCP) welcome you to a briefing on the 2023 OECD Revised MNE Guidelines. David Sullivan, the USNCP and Senior Advisor on Corporate Social Responsibility from the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs of the US Department of State, will provide the briefing. He will cover the following topics:

  • Detail of changes, chapter by chapter, including new provisions in the procedural section of the Guidelines.
  • Current action items from the USNCP related to new provisions and potential increase of cases against companies.
  • Next steps at the OECD Responsible Business Conduct Working Party.

The briefing will be followed by a Q&A.

Date: August 2nd, 10am (45 min)
